Hello everyone! We hope 2021 is off to a good start for everyone. Some key information on upcoming school events:
- Read for the Roses Begins! Read for the Roses, a reading event co-sponsored by the Rose City Park PTO and HPH starts this week, with the first month having a special focus on the Vietnamese language and culture for the whole school.
- Bao Phi livestreamed reading this week! We are so excited to be sponsoring a livestreamed reading from Vietnamese American author Bao Phi to kick-off Read for the Roses! His reading will be at 11 AM, January 27, aired at an RCP school—wide virtual assembly, with our 6th grade VDLI class also joining. Link for the reading, shown at 11 AM on this Wednesday the 27th: www.youtube.com/user/ppscomms/live.
- Tet preparations in full force! The teachers have been working hard with the students preparing and recording videos and photos; please be sure to submit photos/videos/etc. by any deadlines provided by your teacher. HPH is so excited to start putting together the virtual performance video from all of the submissions!
- The Tet video will be shown on February 11th, time to be determined, at the same link as the Read for the Roses reading by Bao Phi: www.youtube.com/user/ppscomms/live or HPH Website: www.hphpdx.org
HPH is so grateful to the partnership with the Rose City Park PTO and the work and support of our librarian Ms. Ivester, administrators, and office staff who are making the Read for the Roses event possible! We are also so grateful to the extra time and dedication of our teachers, administrators, office staff, volunteers, and families for making the Tet celebration possible this year. What an extraordinary community!
